Common Control Board Problems

A failed Terrova control board can cause symptoms such as:

• Trolling motor will not operate
• Intermittent operation
• Loss of steering control
• Motor will not respond correctly to commands
• Unexpected trolling motor operation or control issues

Important: These symptoms do not automatically mean the control board has failed. Proper troubleshooting should be performed before replacing electrical components.

⚠️ Important Steering System Warning

If the control board has experienced a steering circuit failure, the steering drive housing should be tested before installing a replacement board. An excessive-current condition in the drive housing can damage the steering circuit on the control board. Installing a new control board without correcting the underlying drive housing problem can damage the replacement board as well.
